  • Yesterday we have visited Madrasi raja outlet in Baner and we liked the place. The ambience is very clean and gives very positive vibes (the south indian background music was too awesome). We ordered masala dosa, idli-vada and the quality was good but yhe sambar could have been better. The different types of chutneys were awesome and that mainly enhances your taste. Overall good place to visit if you are looking for quick meal during your busy day.

  • ⭐ Madrasi Raja – A Must-Try for South Indian Lovers! Visited Madrasi Raja and absolutely enjoyed the experience. The food is served on banana leaves, adding a nice authentic touch. I tried the idli, medu vada, sambar, three chutneys, podi, a huge dosa, and their classic filter coffee — and everything hit the right notes. -Idli was soft and fresh -Vada was perfectly crispy -Chutneys were flavourful, each with its own kick -Sambar felt homely -The dosa was massive, crisp, and packed with flavour -And the filter coffee… simply outstanding! Portions are generous, taste is authentic, and the whole meal feels comforting. A great spot if you’re craving real South Indian breakfast. Highly recommended!

  • Nice Tamilnadu flavour food. Idlis were soft and fluffy, vadas crispy from outside and soft inside. This size vada, usually ends up with half cooked centre but not here. 3 chutneys, podi and sambar were good as well. Sambar was little low on masala but still good flavour. Thali was also good. Parking on street, free parking. May be bit tight during day time.

  • Absolutely good place..! The dosas were crisp and perfectly golden, and the chutneys fresh and flavorful. Sambhar was rich with authentic spices, reminding me a authentic south style taste. The service was ok and friendly. A perfect spot for a wholesome South Indian breakfast. Will definitely return for more masala dosa.

  • Madrasi Raja, Baner is my go-to for authentic Tamil Nadu food in Pune. Usually, I order online, but this time I visited the restaurant. Since it was a weekend, the place was crowded and it took almost 30 minutes to get a table. The service was a little slow too… but honestly, the wait was worth it because of their masala dosa. The sambar is a star – bold, flavourful, and finally not the sweet version most places here serve. Their masala dosa has become my weekend ritual – comforting and soul-satisfying, especially with their filter coffee. The Oothappam was also good, and next time I’m definitely going back for their rasam rice, sambar rice, and paniyaram. If you’re craving true Tamil flavours in Pune, this place is absolutely worth the hype.

  • This restaurant has a wide range of South Indian dishes available on the menu card but not everything will be available each day. I had asked for malabar parotta with veg kurma but it's only available on Saturdays. The thali was good and tasty. At first look it may seem that this thali is less in quantity with accordance with its price which is 250 Rs. but the thali will prove you wrong. It's in sufficient quantity and quality is top notch. Idli sambhar was also good and served hot. Masala dosa was also crispy and served hota. The thing which makes this place different from others is that it offers 3 chutneys to four chutneys. Three chutneys served directly in the plate are absolutely tasty. But the chutney given in small katori isn't that good. Sambhar was also a typical South Indian sambhar. One extra dry chutney is also served if needed. Atmosphere here is good. I will recommend this restaurant to everyone who wills to try something different. Note: I have given 4 stars only bcoz they haven't mentioned on their menu card that certain dishes aren't available everyday. Also the chutney in small katori wasn't good. Rest all good.

  • Visited Madrasi Raja in Baner, Pune on a Sunday morning with friends, as we were all craving a proper South Indian breakfast. The place is quite popular, so we had to wait around 30 minutes before getting a table. The waiting time felt justified by the food, but a few things did fall short of expectations. We ordered Mysore masala dosa, onion masala dosa, Mysore masala uttapa, steamed idlis, and medu vada. All the dishes were freshly prepared, served hot, and tasted quite good. The dosas were crisp, the idlis were soft, and the vadas had a nice crunch. They served three types of chutneys, all flavorful and fresh. The sambar, however, was a letdown—it lacked the depth and spice that makes South Indian sambar so comforting. Quantity-wise, the portions were sufficient and satisfying for a proper brunch. The biggest disappointment was the filter coffee. When we requested it, the waiter told us there was a technical issue and it wasn’t available. But we noticed them serving it to other tables, which felt a bit unfair or mismanaged. We later headed to Kerala Café nearby just for filter coffee, and it was excellent. That place also had a wider menu including South Indian meals with fish and chicken options, so we’re planning to try that next time. Overall, Madrasi Raja serves good South Indian breakfast, but they need to improve their sambar and staff communication. Worth a try, but with slightly better service, it could be a more pleasant experience.
